Prayer to seek blessings of Saint Anthony

 

O, Saint Anthony, you are a lily of chastity! You are an ornament of humility! You are a mirror of austerity! You are an example of cleanliness! You are a shining star of purity! You are the form of the world! You are a great preacher capable of bringing about a change of mind! You are a great teacher who helps his wards by giving them the gospels as lessons! You have conquered your worldly desires! You have performed miracles wherever you went! You were all smiles when you were stopped from performing miracles wherever you went! You were all smiles when you were stopped from performing miracles! 

O, Saint Anthony, we sinners submit ourselves to your protection. We, sinners, beg of you to pray to Lord Jesus Christ, so that we will get the pure mental disposition to confess our sins and change of heart, and through them the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We make this humble submission to you in view of your great desire for our change of heart!

Let us pray

O, Merciful God, make me understand that it is truly the great blessing to come unto your feet and serve you after discarding my love for baseless worldly riches and pleasures as Saint Anthony had done out of his great love and affection for you! O, God give me wisdom to chase off my base desires arising out of my love for the world, love for riches, love for fame, love for physical pleasures! O, God, bless me so that I shall live like a model child of true holy church.
